We may need to spend a few days in Memphis

I have not mapped out our exact route for the BBQ tour yet but I do know that there are many great spots in Memphis.

The first is Charles Vergo's Rendezvous Ribs. It has Dry rub ribs and sounds great. It is an a back alley but worth the trip. I can't wait. The web site is http://www.hogsfly.com/

The next place will be Corky's Bar-B-Q. It has several locations so it is not a unique as some other rib joints but I think it will be worth a look. The ribs a slow cooked with hickory and the sauce seems to be special

Just the start of our adventure.

What I am talking about

We have been talking about a BBQ tour for some time. When the kids are in College we are hitting the road looking, well not just looking but eating ribs we can find. I want to use an RV to travel in so we don't need to stay in a hotel every night. We can work out the minor details later. The main thing we need to figure out is what restaurants we are going to. We hope to head south from Franklin and see what we can find. I don't want the chain restaurants like Famous Dave's or Tony Roma's, they are OK. We want the special hole in the wall places that make great ribs. I will do my best to find these places from TV and the internet but I can use everyones help to locate them. Send me your favorite restaurant. Thanks

It all starts now

We here it is, the official start of the planning for Karen & my tour of Barbecue places around the country. We plan to drop Charlie off at college and hit the road looking for all the great Barbecue joints we can find. So to make this happen we need to start planning now.

I invite you to send you suggestions for great places to visit.
